Speed Tech 35

Animated Speed Tech 35 tab by ActionTab on guitar. So easy you'll be playing in minutes.

This exercise is from the Core Skills section on developing Speed Techniques. As usual, check out the normal speed audio first.

Here we take a very short legato lick (i.e. using pull offs for speed rather than picking each note). It's very short and sweet, good for quick practice / warm ups. Practice it until you get it consistent, and at least a moderate tempo. Then we'll look at adding bends to spice it up and make it a better lick!

To get fluid with this lick you really need to concentrate on both hands. Even though the picking hand is not actually picking a lot, it is important that you pick the right notes at the right time. You need good string control (especially with the pull offs) to ensure you get clean notes. Pay attention to the audio, listen to it repeated until you 'know it'. Then practice as slow as you need to get the actions correct. Then work on ramping up the speed.
