Sweet Home Alabama

Animated Sweet Home Alabama tab by Lynyrd Skynyrd on guitar. So easy you'll be playing in minutes.

Little introduction is required for this definitive classic. What is probably more useful to know is that there are at least 2 guitars doing different things throughout the song, and that makes playing it on one guitar a little different. This ActionTab shows you the main guitar part and all the 'fills' right through to the chorus (note that for the chorus you break into the C rather than end on the B - as shown in the very last note of the ActionTab).

For this version a pick was used - don't be afraid to try out fingerpicking with it if you want to, but pick will be easier for the palm muted notes. It is also best to practice this track in segments. The main D-C-G riff-based pattern cycles consistently, but watch the fills because they vary quite sneakily. Watch carefully and make sure you've got one part right before moving onto the next D-C-G repeat.

The middle 'fast' part where you end up playing some chromatic notes and ending on the G is pure class to play, just keep practicing and you'll get it! Have fun...
