Chromatic Tap 1

Animated Chromatic Tap 1 tab by ActionTab on guitar. So easy you'll be playing in minutes.

This exercise is from the Core Skills section on Finger Tapping.

This time we tap a short repeating sequence of notes, always 4 frets apart, before ripping into a descending chromatic sequence. That's the hard way of saying that each note is just moved down by 1 fret each time.

This time we aren't just moving the fretboard hand but also using the tapping hand to sound out different notes.

For those with metal aspirations - Chromatic tapping techniques like this can be very effective in breaking out of solos and ending on divebombs (with your whammy bar) etc. Experiment with your own fingertapping note patterns and you'll start finding the world of speedy solos and flashy tricks starts opening up a lot more!
