Eb Tuning

Animated Eb Tuning tab by ActionTab on guitar. So easy you'll be playing in minutes.

This ActionTab is from the Theory section on Alternate Tunings.

Eb Tuning is when every string is lowered by just 1 note. This lowers the overall guitar tone, which some artists and bands prefer. But because each string is lowered by the same amount you can play exactly the same chord shapes etc as standard tuning. The only difference is that everything will sound a bit lower.

Low Eb - Ab - Db - Gb - Bb - Eb

The overall name of the tuning is taken from the note of your Lowest open string. Therefore, we call this Eb Tuning. It's sometimes called D# tuning too because # and b notes are enharmonic (i.e. 1 note shares 2 possible names). However, most people just call it Eb tuning and so will we.
