Slide Run 2

Animated Slide Run 2 tab by ActionTab on guitar. So easy you'll be playing in minutes.

This exercise is from the Core Skills section on Slides.

It is important to teach your fingers to do runs in both directions - up and down the fretboard. In the last exercise we did an ascending slide run, moving upwards through the notes. This time we do a quick downwards 'slide run', moving down through the frets and then briefly ascending again for the last few notes.

This time the scale we are using is the D natural minor scale:

D minor scale: D E F G A Bb C D

The notes are played in this order:

G string: D slide to C
D string: A, G slide to F
A string: D, C slide to Bb

(Then ascend again through the last few notes):

A string: A, Bb slide to C, F

In the previous exercise the slides were done by the 3rd finger. However, notice that this time your 1st finger is used for all the slides. This may be tricky at first, but keep at it and you'll get it!

Notice the Prepared note (red dot with an X in it) at the end of the run. As you play the C note, also fret the F note on the adjacent D string. That way you are already in perfect position to play the last note easily.
