Pull Off 1

Animated Pull Off 1 tab by ActionTab on guitar. So easy you'll be playing in minutes.

This exercise is from the Core Skills section on Pull Offs.

The trick with pull offs is to 'catch' the string and quickly pull the string off to the side before releasing it. This gives more power to the pull off. Much more than just releasing your finger from the string. With a pull off you do need to pull the string a little before releasing it. Watch the video to see how to do this using this ActionTab.

Just like hammer ons, Pull offs are usually easier to do when playing higher up the strings. Notes will ring out for less time because the string tension is also higher. So, if you are having problems, try playing them higher up. The shorter distance between the frets can make all the difference for perfecting your technique, because less finger stretching is required. Once you can play them in higher positions, move down fret-by fret (and practice) until you can play them at lower fret positions.

Here we pull off from B (Fret 7) to A on the top E string and repeat a few times.
