Finger Tapping L3

Animated Finger Tapping L3 tab by ActionTab on guitar. So easy you'll be playing in minutes.

This exercise is from the Core Skills section on Fingertapping.

Now we need to start tapping other strings. Tapping on the high E string was a good place to start, because there is only one adjacent string. Tapping on other strings is usually more difficult, just because there is more chance of accidentally hitting surrounding strings. So here we will tap a few notes on the B string with that in mind.

The aim here is to get clean note taps without hitting surrounding strings. Also we will make things a little more tuneful and tap / pull off some notes from the B major scale.

Remember that a tap is just like a hammer on / pull off combination performed with your strumming hand fingers. When you tap a note and release it you need to stab sharply and firmly so that when you release your finger the note behind it (lower down the string) sounds out loud and clear.

Ever-so-slightly catching the string as you tap (by tapping the string at a slight angle) helps achieve this. Watch the introduction video for more on that.
