If you've never used guitar tablature or music score you may be surprised to find that it doesn’t show you what do with your strumming hand. Not so so with ActionTab. It tells your when and how to strum every string. This is one of the reasons why ActionTab is such an effective teaching tool. We don’t expect you to waste time figuring it out by yourself.

Even with it’s limitations tablature can still be useful to guitar players already familar with it. ActionTab includes the ability to quickly switch to tablature view. However, not content with just offering regular old guitar tab, our guitar tab is color-coded, telling you which finger to use for each note! Another helpful feature is that the green pointer moves along with the music so you know what each note sounds like.

While the virtual fretboard is great for learning new songs and riffs you'll still need to learn the basics of guitar. We've included a range of video lessons to take you from zero knowledge to having the skills to play whatever you want.

The integrated help system means all you need to do is hover your mouse over something and you’ll be told what it does. No more reading manuals or help files!

ActionTab uses real guitar sounds, not a fake computer generated MIDI sound that resembles a keyboard. Really hear what you’re meant to playing as it should sound.

Some people already familiar with tablature are uncomfortable with the default position of the ActionTab fretboard. You can flip the fretboard to suit your preference.

If you’d like to play along with the ActionTab turn on the 3 second delay to give yourself a chance to get the guitar back in your hands before it starts.

The guitar recording you learn from in ActionTab is often slightly slowed down to help you follow it. The normal speed recording lets you hear how you should be playing once you’ve got the hang of it.

Don't waste time finding your place again between practice sessions. Just bookmark your current position and get back to it later at the click of a button.

Don’t like blue? Change the fretboard to whatever color you prefer easily.

If you find that things are moving a little too fast for you try changing to a lower playback speed. There are 4 speeds available.

You've probably had difficulty in even starting to play your guitar because you need to tune it. ActionTab includes a guitar tuner to help you get your strings sounding perfect.

To help you learn even faster we've included the ability for strings to light up when you have to strum or pick them. No more looking left and right all the time!
