strumming 10 Ride On

Animated strumming 10 Ride On tab by Christy Moore on guitar. So easy you'll be playing in minutes.

This exercise is from the Core Skills section on Strumming.

Now you should know enough to learn a song. "Ride On" is a traditional Irish folk song. Christy Moore has recorded a version of it that is probably the most well known to date. The song uses everything you've learned in the exercises so far.

Strums aren't always as rigid as we've been playing them so far, so pay attention to the ActionTab (eyes and ears). Varied pace, partial strums, and chord variations (i.e. D sus4 makes an appearance) are all in here.

It is played in the video at the start of this section, have a look and listen to that and use the "Light Strings" option to help you with this ActionTab.

Concentrate on getting the chord changes in time first, and then work on varying your strums to fit. The chords cycle through E minor, C major, D major with (D sus4 / D sus2 variations too).
