Speed Tech 16

Animated Speed Tech 16 tab by ActionTab on guitar. So easy you'll be playing in minutes.

This exercise is from the Core Skills section on developing Speed Techniques. As usual, check out the normal speed audio first.

Now we've practiced the various combinations of 3-finger patterns across the strings using hammers. Let's practice shifting the same pattern up the strings after each 2nd string. We will use the original 1-2-3 finger pattern for this.

Remember to remove a finger the instant it has played. Otherwise you won't get a smooth flow as you shift positions. Also, of interest in this exercise is the fact that each time we shift to a new fret position we end up playing the same sequence of 6 notes again, just in a higher register (octave range). So we are effectively playing:

String 1 - A - A# - B
String 2 - D - D# - E
String 3 - A - A# - B (next octave up)
String 4 - D - D# - E
String 5 - A - A# - B (next octave up)
String 6 - D - D# - E
