Picking 7

Animated Picking 7 tab by ActionTab on guitar. So easy you'll be playing in minutes.

This is the 7th exercise from the Core Skills section on Picking.

Here we use each finger on the fretboard. To keep things simple for now we will stick to downstrokes for picking each note. This should enable you to concentrate more on your fingers on the fretboard getting the right notes.

In this exercise we have to think more about what both hands are doing on the fretboard. If you are new to guitar it will take some practice to co-ordinate and synchronise your pick strokes whilst also fretting each note using your other hand. Start slowly and make sure you pick each note cleanly. Remember that you want each note to sound out clearly.

Getting it right is more important than playing it fast. Speed will come with practice, so start slowly first and once your fingers start to get used to finding the right places, work on speeding up the pace. Don't cheat and use one finger to play each note on the fretboard. Follow the ActionTab and play each note with the designated finger dots.
