Picking 6

Animated Picking 6 tab by ActionTab on guitar. So easy you'll be playing in minutes.

This is the 6th exercise from the Core Skills section on Picking.

By now you have probably guessed what your picking hand will be doing in this exercise. That's right - Alternate picking using repetitive down / up strokes. However, this time the other hand will be doing something different...

Notice that in this ActionTab a blue dot appears on the 2nd fret of the Low E string. Instead of using your first finger on the G note, like we were doing in the previous 2 exercises, this time we use your 2nd finger on the 2nd fret. This note is called F# (F sharp). Right now, don't worry about what the notes are called. For now, just concentrate on playing this note using your 2nd finger.

Aim to get the note sounding out cleanly each time you pick it. Notice in the ActionTab that the pick strokes alternate in direction. Remember to use those constant down / up / down / up pick strokes, it's important to get your alternate picking correct from the start. Soon we'll be making more use of them.

Loop the ActionTab and play along with it until you can do it right.
