Picking 16

Animated Picking 16 tab by ActionTab on guitar. So easy you'll be playing in minutes.

This exercise is from the Core Skills section on Picking.

By now you should be able to pick your way through some common chords, so let's vary the picking and alter timing of pick strokes to make things a bit more musically interesting.

The chords here are D major, C major and G major.

Pay attention to the pickstrokes and which notes are played and which ones aren't. Here we aren't just moving between chords but adding occasional notes and holding notes / using rests.

Once you can do this you are well on your way to learning songs! Many ActionTabs will become easier for you to play and experiment with. Don't forget to have fun trying out your own chord combinations and making your own tunes. A good guitarist doesn't just copy, but creates!
