Palm Muting 4

Animated Palm Muting 4 tab by ActionTab on guitar. So easy you'll be playing in minutes.

This exercise is from the Core Skills section on Palm Muting.

Watch the video before proceeding with this exercise on adding open chord stabs to your palm muting rhythms. Here we stick to palm muting and downstrokes, but vary which strings we strike and also use open strikes for rhythmic effect. Many songs do this, and it is a common way of making the powerchord more fun.

Remember to keep all your fingers in position on the fretboard and to keep your palm close to the strings so you can switch between palm muting and open strums quickly. Raise your palm edge off the strings for the open strikes, and quickly return it to rest on the strings for the palm muting. Keep the picking rhythm going steady throughout.

Listen to the ActionTab on loop to make sure you have the rhythm in your head first. Once you can do it, try out your own rhythms and have fun!

We only use the Low E powerchord here, once you can do that we can start to make things even more interesting....
