Hopoff 11

Animated Hopoff 11 tab by ActionTab on guitar. So easy you'll be playing in minutes.

This exercise is from the Core Skills section on the Hammer On / Pull Off Combination.

The Hammer on / Pull off combination is a very effective technique when making up riffs. Here we use the combination to play quickly downwards through an E minor pentatonic scale then slide up from the D powerchord to the E powerchord on the 5th and 7th frets. Lastly, there are 2 standard powerchords at the 3rd and 5th frets (G and A powerchords) in the middle of the ActionTab for a bit of variance.

Because the hammer / pull off technique lends itself to speed, it means you can quite easliy play through notes and scales using it.

Although it may sound like a tricky riff, especially when played at normal speed, it is actually quite simple. Just work at playing through the scale at a moderate speed. Stick at that part until you can do it reasonably comfortably, then work on adding in the slide between powerchords.
