Hold The Line (Solo)

Animated Hold The Line (Solo) tab by Toto on guitar. So easy you'll be playing in minutes.

The main guitar may be very beginner friendly, but the solo is definitely not for beginners. It's fast and very difficult in places. We play it very slowly here, but even so...leave it until you are ready for it. Some of the fingerings used here are awkward and if you aren't familiar with the natural minor scale patterns it will be tougher still.

For most of the solo, use the F# natural minor scale:

F# - G# - A - B - C# - D - E - F#

This is done mostly up at fret 14 (using the E minor scale pattern). Also the whammy bar is used on some bends to give vibrato to some of those high bends.

For the brave, and determined...There are definitely some nice licks in the solo. It'll be easier to follow if you are familiar with your CAGED minor scale patterns. Check out the theory section to learn that! You may also want to keep a band aid ready for those fingers if you tackle this solo.
