Harmonics 10

This example is from the Core Skills section on Harmonics.

Here we use harmonics to make a nice scale run. This is a fun way of integrating harmonics into solos. Guitarists like Joe Satriani make extensive use of harmonic scale runs like this.

All we are doing is playing through the harmonics on the 5th and 7th fretwires of each string. So the sequence of harmonic notes in this run are as follows:

E - B - A - E - D - A - G - D - B - F# - E - B

The notes here are used in many common scales, so this particular run would work well over quite a few chords in a solo. For example, you could use it over E minor, G major, B minor or A7 chords comfortably to name but a few.

See if you can get it as fast as the normal speed audio (under Tools in the Menu), then move on to the next exercise...
