Fingerpicking 6

Animated Fingerpicking 6 tab by ActionTab on guitar. So easy you'll be playing in minutes.

This exercise is from the Core Skills section on Fingerpicking.

This time we'll use a naturally fast-sounding pattern for fingerpicking across a few chords. The pattern is T1T2. You will need to move between strings with your thumb, as you can see / hear in the ActionTab. This picking pattern is quite common in country styles.

The Chords are:

A minor (T1T2 twice)
C major (T1T2 twice)
D major (T1T2 four times)

Repeat this a few times, but notice that the very last time the D chord shape is moved higher and higher as we play the T1T2 pattern.

Don't worry about getting as fast as the normal speed audio yet, that will come with time and practice!

Once you can play these patterns, why not try out your own? Try out different patterns and variations of picking across different chords. There are so many possibilities.
