Returning on a Bend

Animated Returning on a Bend tab by ActionTab on guitar. So easy you'll be playing in minutes.

This exercise is from the Core Skills exercises on string Bends.

You don't need to always pick a note and then bend it. For example, you can bend a string first, and then pick it, then return the string to its starting position. This is called a pre-bend. Also, you can do a normal bend, hold it while you play something else, then pick the bent string and return it. That is what we show you here.

Pick the bend as normal, but keep your first finger prepared on the adjacent string. Now, holding the bend, pick the adjacent note. After you've done that, pick the bent string again and return it to the resting position. Repeat until you have the hang of it.

This is quite a common solo technique, and very simple once you've learned to maintain the bend. Use the fingers as shown here, and you will get it in no time!
